The NILAM trees project is actually an idea to encourage the reading habits among students. They compete among them fairly and practise the win-win situation in the classroom.
Each student who read 5 books will get a flower and he/she may stick his/her number on the flower. Then the students will have the privilage of choosing where to paste their flowers on the prepared column. May they be on the branches, roots or even scatter on the ground together with the green grass. They make their own choice.
By the end of the year, the King and Queen Readers will be chosen from the students who read the most. And of course, undeniablly interesting prizes await.
Care to try ? Your students might like this idea but you readers might have to work extra miles to prepare the column and the flowers, as well as the numbers. Quite hectic and handful but you wont regret doing it, I bet!

Was this done in the classroom or your SAC? If I're to plant these trees in classes, I've to compete for spaces with other subject teachers...
Great ideas! I love all the trees, flowers and grass...very artistic! You're very talented, my dear Mas.
